Gingerbread

I am going to meet up Julia after her work today to first go to Flatplanet, which she has been speaking very highly of. Lets see if it really is as amazing as she's been saying ;P 

After that, we are going to the Swedish church to bake gingerbread! They use to have events on Wednesdays, but I have never been there before. It will probably be fun.

Nicolas just left our flat to go back to Argentina. It's so sad and we are all gonna miss him! He and I went to Camden today and just walked around. It was really nice to spend some time with him before he left :)

My sisters

I was just thinking about how much I miss my sisters. How we always used to stay up late, just talking, and how they have always been there for me when life has been hard. I don't know what I would have done without them. I love you, Challe-challe (Charlotte) and Low-low in the bowl-oh (Louise) <3

I don't know why I'm being like this. Maybe it's because I just spoke to Charlotte and made a date to skype with her tomorrow.

Christmas cosy time

The party yesterday was a lot of fun. I think the party ended around 6am. There's really not much more to say... We had fun. :)

This morning we ate breakfast and after that we had some "christmas cosy time" where we ate the christmas cookies and stuff that we were baking on thursday and drank glögg (mulled wine), and I gave everyone a little christmas present. It was very cosy, a real success. We also got a new family member, Arthur, that moved in just in time for the "christmas cosy time".

After that (long after) we went to winter wonderland in hyde park. It is so big! We spent a couple of hours there, walking around and looking around. Afterwards, we went to starbucks and sat there for a while.

So all in all a very nice day!

I went to starbucks today to return my work uniforms (aprons and t-shirts). It felt a bit weird to go there without working, but it was so nice to see some of the people there again :)

Tonight, we are having a little goodbye party for Nicolas, who are moving on sunday, so his friends are coming over later. It's gonna be fun!

I look like me again!

FYI - Wew never went out yesterday. Instead, Julia and I stayed up all night baking christmas cookies. That's right. Baking. It was for the christmas thing that we have on saturday, and it's gonna be delicious!

Also, as I wrote yesterday, I dyed my hair. Seriously, I don't know what the lady at the salon were thinking when she told the girl that cut my hair to put blond highlights in the fringe. I was sceptical then, but thought that I could see what it looked like, but I just couldn't get used to it. It looked like something people would have in the 90's, which is not a good sign. So now my hair is dark brown with a hint of purple in it. Much better! As Francheska told me, I look like me again x)

Today, Julia and I went to our beloved Ikea! We ate breakfast, then looked around for a while, trying sitting in the chairs and couches and stuff. Then we ate lunch and after that we bought some stuff for saturday, when we are having some kind of christmas celebration in the flat.

Pimp my mug

Today, I went to a new store that opened in our area recently. It's called hobby craft and it's huge! I bought some stuff for jewellery making, and porcelain decorating pens. So when I got home I ate and after that I decorated my black mug.

Free haircut

So I went to the hardresser today and got a free hair cut! They even dyed it for free!

The reason it was for free was because it was students who needed people to practice on. But I think it turned out good. I just have to get used to it :) I was a bit skeptical when the instructor suggested a fringe, but I think I like it ^^

Annoying!

There's a couple of things that has annoyed me a lot today...

1. This morning, at approx. 4.20 am, some dumbass decided to ring on our doorbell. Twice. I woke up and thought that maybe one of my flatmates had decided to go out for some reason and forgot the keys. So I hurried down to find the street outside empty. Thanks a lot, whoever you are! >.<
2. People who can't read - Nicolas is moving out soon, so to find a new roommate I have put up an ad on intolondon.co.uk. The headline of the ad clearly states "1 bed available in shared double room". Today, I have received several phone calls, each and every one was surprised when I said it was a shared room. What's wrong with people???
3. People who speaks loudly on the phone while on the bus - What's even worse is when they don't have a vocabulary! A woman sat on the bus today with a phone against her ear and said "aha, aha, aha... aha, aha, aha.... aha... aha... aha, aha, aha...". I wanted to turn around and yell "´GET A F***ING DICTIONARY!".

I'm sorry about all this complaining. I guess I woke up on the wrong side today, thanks to a certain dumbass that thinks it's funny to ring on people's doorbells early in the morning...

Brick Lane

Today, I went to Brick Lane for the first time. I don't know why I've waited so long to go there. The market is amazing! It's filled with vintage stuff and I could walk around there for hours. It was a lot of fun, even though I went by myself.

After Brick Lane, I met up with Julia to go and eat something at a place called flat planet. Julia and Francheska has been talking about that place so I was looking forward to it, but it turned out that they weren't open as long as we thought so we had to go somewhere else. It turned out good though. We found a place called Joe and the Juice, which we really liked :)

Tomorrow, I have an appointment to get my hair cut. For free! Yeah! I hope it turns out well :)

Darkness

It's funny how, every year at this time, you are equally surprised by how quickly it gets dark. Like today, when Michelle and I went shopping around 3pm it was bright outside, but on our way home, around 4,30pm it was already dark.

It is the same thing every year. When the winter comes, most of the day is dark, yet we still begin a lot of conversations with "Wow, it's already dark outside!".

Speaking of winter - Christmas is in just a few days more than a month. I actually wrapped the first Christmas present today! I still have a lot of Christmas shopping left, but at least I've taken the first step :)

Changes

Today (well, technically yesterday) was my last day at starbucks. As I've mentioned before, I felt that that kind of business wasn't my thing, and it actually feels good, even though I have to start looking for a new job. The only sad thing is that I will miss the people that I worked with. I haven't had a chance to say goodbye to all of them, but I'm going back there either this weekend or next week to return my t-shirts and aprons, so I might have a chance to say goodbye to some.

After work, I went over to Julias work place to meet up with her and Terés and after that we went home to Terés and ate pizza. We had a good time, but only had time to stay for a couple of hours.

Oh, yeah, I haven't mentioned that Terés has her own place now. We helped her move hes stuff on monday. Her new place is nice, though the bathroom is pretty nasty. The others in her new house doesn't seem to care about keeping it clean. Same thing with the kitchen. But her room is big and much nicer than the rest of the house. It's too bad though that her place is far from ours, so we don't see her as often :(

The cutest kid was on our bus when we moved Terés's stuff. He kept hiding like this in his jacket and once in a while he looked up at us with a big smile. So cute!

Back from the...

Hello there! Missed me? I know I haven't written in a while. I've been suffering from fever and a really bad cold and have just been lying half dead in my room during the week. So I didn't feel like writing. I was feeling better Thursday, so I've been working and yesterday we had a party, which was fun! But there hasn't been any time or strength to write in the blog. But now I'm back!

Today, I went to Hampstead heath with Julia and Terés. We walked around for hours, found a tree house that we climbed around in, we walked in the park and looked at the nice view from the hill there (it was foggy today, but usually you can see over all of London, almost), and after the park we went to a nice cafe.

All in all -  We had a lot of fun, stepped in dog poo, drank dog water, saw brown beans and other brown things (sorry, internal jokes), and talked about all kinds of stuff = Had a great time!

"Small fees" and gingerbread lattes

I had a really nice day with Terés today.

First, we went to view some flats that she's interested in, but we had to go to the agency first to get the addresses. It seemed really dodgy, and she had to pay a "small fee" of 59 pounds to be able to view the flats so we never actually did view them. Instead we went to little Venice and after that we had some coffee at Costa. I decided to try their gingerbread latte, because I love the gingerbread latte that Starbucks has. Costa's was good as well, but didn't taste as much gingerbread.

When we got home we made tacos and sat with Michelle and talked in the kitchen. All in all a very nice day, even though we never got to do what we went out to do, but at least we learned something - agencies are expensive.

I have kind of started decorating my room for Christmas.

What's new?

What's new is:

• My mum and sisters went back to Sweden this morning
• I had to call in sick today because I wasn't feeling well and had no voice at all. The girl I spoke to on the phone didn't recognise my voice and I had to say my name several times.
• Yesterday, I told my manager I wanted to quit my job. I feel that working with food probably isn't my thing. I've tried it and I'm done with it and want to move on. I will work two more weeks and then I'm done.

That's what has happened in short.

During my mother's and sisters stay we went shopping in Camden and oxford street, we went to millennium bridge and also saw the musical We will rock you (this was the second time for me and my mother. We saw it with my dad about a year ago, a couple of days after we arrived here in London for the first time). I had a really good time and already miss them! As usual I am lousy with taking pictures. My mother have a lot though, so I have to ask her to send some.

Long day

Today was  the last day to spend with my mum and sisters. I worked from 6am to 11am and after that we went together from my work to central London. We did some sightseeing, shopping etc.

It's been a long day. At this point I'm too tired to write about everything in the blog, so I will tell more about it tomorrow. I also have no voice and my throat is very sore. I hope I feel better tomorrow and that I don't get a fever (which I feel that I might get...)

Now I'm going to watch some series and then go to sleep!

Blue

Today has not been the best day. I think I'm getting sick, my throat hurts and my head is throbbing, and I didn't exactly have the best day at work. The only good thing that happened is that after work, I met up with my mother and sisters, who arrived in London today!

We are going to spend the whole day together tomorrow and on thursday. It's going to be so nice! I have missed them so much! I just hope I'm feeling better tomorrow.

Moving on

It's just gonna be a quick post today, 'cause I'm so tired! I just moved to the room upstairs. The reason is because in my last room I shared with two people and in my new room I only share with one, which will give me a bit more space. Since I came home late from work, I have spent basically the whole evening moving all my stuff from one room to another. Plus that I put my clothing rack together and put the wardrobe that was in here apart. So I've been busy!

Now I'm going to watch some series or something and then I'm going to sleep!
