the party

Our party yesterday was really fun! A lot of people showed up, but we still managed to be in our kitchen. We had decorated the flat a lot, and we were really happy with the result :) Here are some pictures of how it looks, as I promised:

And here is a picture that Amelie took with my polaroid camera before most people arrived:

Halloween party!

Yesterday was epic! I decided to wear the costume that I will wear tonight. So I was dressed as a ghost all night, on the tube and in the club. I was definitely the most popular ghost yesterday (that I was the only ghost is a fact we can ignore.). I got lots of comments on the tube, people were smiling when I went up and down the escalators, lots of people wanted to dance with me and I was even lifted up on someones shoulders! xD And Michelle was really popular too! everyone wondered if her Afro was real. We had so much fun!

A picture I found on the website. Michelle is the one with the Afro and I'm the ghost. Whe must have been a funny looking couple xD

I was disappointed though, that not many people were dressed up...

This is halloween

I found this video the other day, of a house that someone decorated for Halloween. Well... maybe decorated is an understatement. See for yourselves:

Someone must have had a lot of spare time on their hands! And they have a whole bunch of other songs as well, such as Thriller by Michael Jackson and Party rock anthem by LMFAO.

After work today, I am going out with Julia and Terés. I still haven't decided what I'm gonna dress up as. I'll see what I have at home... I might take the same costume that I'm going to wear at the party on saturday.

I'm flying!

Oh yeah! I just booked flight tickets to Sweden! I'm leaving december 19th and staying until january 1st! Can't wait to see everyone back home again :)

What's even better is that my mum and my sisters are coming to visit next week ^^ Yaaaay!

Accents

As I wrote a couple of days ago, people have commented on my accent. Some people say I sound french, some say British, the other day someone thought I was from Spain (WTF??) and today, someone said I had a Liverpool accent.

So, my thoughts on this are that either my accent is severely schizophrenic, or people are just really bad with accents.

Maybe both?

About my day today, it was pretty quiet at work. Except from when a couple came in to buy something and started fighting in the middle of the transaction. It was very awkward, because I had to stand there and wait for the girl to pay, while she preferred to yell at her boyfriend. Then she yelled at me for not hearing what she said when she asked for honey to her coffee.

On my way home, I was really excited to start moving my stuff to another room, but when I get home I see a note on the kitchen table that says that Julian, the guy who's moving, hadn't packed his stuff yet so he wouldn't give me the key. I'm so disappointed. Not only because I won't be able to move my stuff, but mostly because I asked him days ago if it would be okay for me to move in. He had plenty of time, and he doesn't even have that much stuff! And now I need to wait until Monday! Arrgh!

Pumpkin

I had only a four hour shift today, so I didn't start until 4.30pm, which was pretty nice. And it was a pretty calm day at work as well. The only thing was that the washing machine didn't work, so we had a bit more to do after closing.

On my way home from work, I went to buy some bread and I saw that they were selling pumkins, so of course I had to buy one!

Are we gonna carve this sucker or what?? :D

Halloween

Halloween is probably my favourite celebration of the year. I love dressing up, I love the gloomy feeling, the weather and everything! On Friday Saturday, we are having a Halloween party in our flat, and today I went and bought a bunch of decorations. Everything was really cheap, so I think I went a bit crazy there, haha.

It looks like we're having a kids party :P

When we have decorated the place, I will post some pictures of how it looks! :)

A thing for me

This song is so good! And the video is cool too :) You should check out their other songs too, 'cause they're awesome!

Rigga

Today I tried to take a good picture of the view from the bus to Ikea.

Yes, I went to Ikea today!

I think I need a camera. Taking pictures with my mobile phone is not the optimal way to take pictures. I've actually been thinking of getting a good camera for a while now and have started saving some money.

Anyway, I ended up buying swedish food (of course!), and this:

I am sharing one exactly like this with Michelle now, but next week I am moving to another room in our flat, and I want one in my new room as well. I love keeping my clothes on these things, it looks so much better than a wardrobe!

Skånsk=Scottish?

Today at work, two men came in, and after ordering they said to me: "We can hear on your accent that you're Scottish". They were surprised when I told them I was Swedish and then said: "Aren't swedes usually blond?"

To me, that is a compliment. Well, not the blond part, but that I sounded Scottish. It means that my English isn't too bad. It's hard to hear yourself when you talk, so it's nice to hear what people think it sounds like. On the other hand, I have also heard that I sound British, and also that I sound french. But I'm happy as long as people don't tell me I sound Swedish. That would be an insult to me, because the "Swedish" English sounds awful.

Dear diary...

Today was a lazy day. All I did was watching series, buying some necessary stuff for the flat and cleaning. Awesome! I love to have days where there is nothing you have to do, you just do whatever you feel like doing.

The other day, I found my diary that I used to write in. It was actually a bit hard to read it. Not because of the handwriting or anything, it's just that it stirred up some emotional memories. I wrote in it a bit more than a year ago, which was during a time when a lot of things happened in my life. It was around graduation and before that. I don't know why I stopped writing in it... I feel that it's a good way to handle my emotions, so to speak. To let go of some hard things. Personal things that you might not want to share with others or write about in your blog. Drawing can help me with that sometimes too.

Here's a quote that I found in my diary:
"Anyone wanna swap bodies?
... F*ck."

Yes yes, a very informative quote if I may say so. And oh so mature of me. Sorry about that, old me. I know it was only meant for myself to read, but sharing that quote surely can't hurt.

Have you ever had a diary? Or do you have another way to handle your emotions?

Teddy bears

I found this picture and I thought it was so cute that I had to share it here :)

Spontanous

Tonight, we decided to go out dancing. Just like that, while we were eating dinner, someone just spontanously said "lets go out!". No alcohol or anything, just dancing. We had a very good time, though most people in the bar were way older than us.

I think I'll let these pictures speak for themselves.

The damages

I just read Julias blog and saw pictures that she took this morning. Our flat looks like a crime scene or something. Not pretty. But kind of funny. I decided to borrow her pictures and show them here:

The bathroom mat is in the stairs for some reason.
On the plate there is lemons and lime with coffee on them. You are supposed to eat that before taking some shot. It was really disgusting.
Art?
Don't think that these were the only empty bottles to find.

Right now I am doing some washing. Some of the guests fell asleep in my, Michelle's and Francheska's room, and I decided that it was probably best to wash Michelle's and Francheska's bed sheets, since they were not here yesterday. That's what I would have wanted them to do if some of their friends borrowed my bed when I was away.

Hat party

When I came home from work yesterday, I was greeted by a bunch of people sitting in the kitchen. I had completely forgotten that Nicolas and Julian had invited people over for a party. I joined  them and the plan was that we would go out clubbing after a while. More people showed up and we never left our flat.

Everyone was super nice, we played some games, had a couple (read: A LOT!) of drinks and danced. We had a really good time, and I even got a dancing lesson in how they dance in Venezuela. Haha :)

"A woman with power"...

... Something, something. That was all of what I could hear when a man started talking to me on the bus home yesterday, after going to Your mum's house and seeing Icona pop. He didn't look happy and he was pointing at my shoe. I didn't really hear what he was saying, so I just smiled at him. Turns out, he didn't like that I was sitting with my legs crossed, and after repeating "A woman with power... something something" a couple of times while giving me a death stare, he forced me to keep both of my feet on the bus floor. It was very weird.

Anyway, the night was very successful. Icona pop was great live, they played some awesome music at the club, we danced a lot and we had a lot of fun :)

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures on Terés, but she was there with us too ^^

Lunch

I am having my lunch now and i am writing on my ipod again. It's a bit tricky, since the buttons are so small.

This day started with julia waking me up so that we could take a run together. It went well and i feel that it's going to hurt tomorrow, which is a good thing.

Tonight, me and some of the others from the flat are going to a club, where a swedish electro group called Icona pop are going to play. I'm so excited!

GAAAAH!

Why don't they turn theyr frickin' alarm off???? That stupid thing has been beeping VERY LOUDLY for the last ten minutes, at least! It's the store opposite our flat, and I can see from my window that nothing is going on over there. AARGHH!

Cosy Kitchen

Because of the lack of livingroom in our flat, we decided to improvise. We used the space underneath the counter in the kitchen. That's what I bought the pillows for earlier.

Julia got excited about our new cosy space.

Early holidays

Today, I went to the big primark on oxford street to buy some pillows. I try only to go there when I know what I need, because it's always so crowded and you have to fight your way through the store. Luckily, most of the tourists have gone home, now that it's getting colder.

After primark, I went to see where Julia works and we had lunch together. We are planning on going to the movies later, but we'll see how that goes. I went to the cinema and also looked on the website, but I couldn't find anything that sounded good...

The picture is taken at oxford street, with christmas decorations hanging over the street. Isn't it too early for that? I mean, come on! We haven't even had Halloween yet! I don't want to be bored of christmas before it's even december.

Confused?

I was so tired on my way home from work. I haven't been feeling very well and as I was walking to the end of the platform in the underground, In this very tired and confused state of mind, I almost started turning somersaults (I don't know if that's the correct word) to try to go faster. Does that mean I've been playing too much Zelda?

Food is ready

When I came home from work today, I was greeted by food on the table. It was cooked by Julia - my personal house wife. How wonderful :) So I didn't have to cook when I got home, and it was far more delicious than I would be able to accomplish myself.

Thank you, Julia! :D

I'm so lucky

I feel pretty happy about my life right now. I don't know why, nothing special has happened. I just feel happy :)

Mad hatter

One thing that I have noticed is that when I wear my hat on our nights out, my hat gets very popular. People come up to me just to try the hat (or use the hat as an excuse to start dancing with us). So yesterday, I decided that, as a fun thing,I'm going take a picture of every single person trying on my hat. I will dedicate a whole part of my blog to this project, under the name "Mad hatter".

Here's some pictures of people that tried on my hat when we were out yesterday:

The first picture is of the birthday kid - Terés :)

Glowing in the dark

I just came home from a night out with Michelle and Terés, celebrating Terés's birthday. We had a lot of fun at a club called Purple turtle, in which we have been once before. We got some glow sticks, which we played around with all night x)

 Terés
Michelle

But one of the funniest moments where on the bus home. when we got on, the guy who sat opposite me started talking to me:

Guy: your'e dressed up

Me:...yeah.. We've been out..

Guy: Have you been to a halloween party?

Me: No! Halloween is not yet!

Guy: Oh, yeah, it's in like two or three weeks?

Terés: Varför frågade han det?(translation: Why did he ask you that?)

Me: Jag vet inte?? (translation: I don't know??)

We then continued speeking swedish to each other, ignoring the guy. We dropped the subject of halloween completely and started talking about the glow sticks. I jokingly talked about how I'm going to make it my evening ritual to put the glowsticks around me, to get better sleep and we span that joke further.

Guy (to michelle): can you push the stop button for me?

And then, before he got off he said: Ja... ha en trevlig kväll då, tjejer! (translation: well... have a nice evening, ladies)

So, it turned out he was Swedish and had been listening to our conversation the whole time! It was so funny. That's why he looked so happy xD hahahahah!

Well, I have to go to sleep now, I have work at 3pm tomorrow.

Goodnight!

From work

Hi there. I am currently having my break at work, and I'm trying the wi-fi for the first time. On my ipod. So everything is tiny. But it's nice to have something to do on the break.

My hair is dyed

I dyed my hair earlier. It's this brown-purple-ish colour and it's really nice. I'm happy with the result. But I have to dye it one more time, 'cause there wasn't quite enough dye, so in some places it is more brown than purple. I guess I have more hair than I thought. Here's a picture of how it looks like (though, the picture doesn't really do the colour justice...)

okay.. the purple really doesn't show at all here... But still...

Piggy bank

I've been looking for a nice piggy bank for a while now and today I finally found one! It's HUGE and super cute ^^

When I bought it, the lady in the till was like "oooh, a piggy bank! I didn't know we had this. It's perfect, I could have all my coins in it!"

She thinks she's a cat

I'm lost for words... This is just too weird, and I wonder what that other person thinks about it...

Fashion targets breast cancer

When I got home today, Julia gave me a little present. It was a friendship bracelet that you buy to support breast cancer. She had taken a little trip to Portsmouth and bought the bracelet there. She also bought one for Francheska and Michelle as well.

Thank you Julia! :)
