Final garment

My final garment is now completely finished! What I did in class today was to hand sew the neck line and attach a strap on the inside to keep the arms in place.

I've had a lot of school work to do this weekend. I sat all day yesterday to write three different essays. I had a lot of work for today, since not only did the garment have to be finished, but I also had a big final presentation, with two essays for Customer targeting. I had so much to bring to school, that I had to put it in a suitcase. Everyone asked me if I was going somewhere or if I had been travelling. But no, I just have a lot of school work. But luckily, next week is the last of this term, so then I will be able to relax!

Wednesday's class

I haven't had time to write here in the blog the last couple of days because Ellinor arrived in London on Wednesday, and I've also had some school work to take care of.

In class on Wednesday, we practised drawing faces and hats, so we all had to pose for the others wearing a hat. Here is one of the drawings I made:

(I used oil pastels for this one)

After class, I had some time before Ellinor arrived, so I stayed and finished my final garment! (For some reason I can't upload a picture of it right now, so I will have to show you another time.)

final garment (not finished)

So I just thought I'd show you what I'm working on in creative drape at the moment:

As I've mentioned before, the theme of this term is sustainability, so what I've done is that I've taken apart some old sweaters and then sewn them together to a whole piece. It's obviously not ready yet. What I'll do next is to add sleeves, and then I just have the finishings left. So far I'm quite happy with it :)

Catching up

I met my sweet friend Terés today! It's been a while since we hung out, just the two of us, so it was nice to get together and talk, drink coffee and walk around.

Now, I am going to try getting some homework done before Tobias comes. Then we are going to watch The walking dead. Let's see if those series are as good as people are saying :)

Random!

Okay, I laughed so hard when I saw this video!

Leather jacket

Hello there! In class today, we were experimenting with textures and patterns of garments, using different media such as water colour, charcoal, pastels, markers etc. I'm not gonna show you all I did in class today, because I wasn't entirely happy with everything I drew. Velvet for example was very hard to draw. However, I was quite happy with my drawing of a leather jacket:

To get the right texture, I used a black marker and oil pastels.

Fredrik's visit in London

My dear friend Fredrik came to visit this wednesday, and he stayed until yesterday. It's been so nice having him here! On wednesday evening, Tobias and I met him at the station and we then went and met up with Terés at a pub. On thursday, Fredrik and I went to see some of the big monuments, then we had dinner at Byron and later he, I and his friend Casper went to the bar where Tobias work and we had some drinks there.

On friday morning, Fredrik, Tobias and I had some late english breakfast at a café in Camden. Apparently, others thought we were having a late breakfast as well, because a group of people walked by, pointed at us and said "Look, they're having breakfast!" then walked away laughing! Friday evening we went to Proud in Camden, and on saturday evening we went to the Monarch for the soundtrack night.

I see you!

As a part of my Targeting Customers class, I have to look at a luxury brand, go to their store and do a survey, so today I went to the Marc Jacobs store here in London to have a look at their window display and to see how many people walked into the store etc.

The window display was pretty cool actually. It had this huge creepy eye ball that even blinked!
