Last day of term!

I've just finished the last day of this term and submitted the final project for fashion portfolio II! I am now looking forward to tonight's fashion show, where the graduates will be showing their collections. After that it is summer break!

I was actually quite happy with my final project. The assignment was to take a text, which could be from anywhere, and then translate it into a collection of six outfits. I choose the quote "When he looks at me, all he sees is a broken toy", which is from an episode of vampire diaries (don't judge me...).

I decided to try and experiment a bit with this project, and try to do the illustrations differently than I otherwise do. I used watercolour and let the paint run on the paper while painting.

As you can see, all the figures are supposed to be broken somehow:

 A broken wind-up toy
 This one dropped an arm
This has a broken leg.
This one has no arms.
A barbie doll that lost its head.
Here, I tried to make her look like a broken porcelain doll.

And here is the moodboard.

Mindless self indulgence

I just saw that a band that i listened a lot to when I was 15-16 is playing in London in November. I'm not really listening to that sort of music anymore, but this band pops up in my playlists from time to time so I'm kind of considering buying tickets, just for old times sake...

Long time no see! I believe it's time for me to make an appearance on the blog again. I know I've been lousy with blogging recently, but I'm gonna make an attempt to come back now.

Last week, my lovely friend Julia came visiting for a few days. We hung out in the park, went to a pub and celebrated her birthday by going to an italian restaurant here in Camden. It was so nice, I haven't seen her since last summer (!!!).

Julia left early on sunday morning, and in the evening my parents came to visit. During the time in between, Tobias and I celebrated that we'd been together for six months, by going to the cinema.
Then for the next couple of days. I spent as much time I could with my parents. We went shopping, ate some nice food and visited the tower of London. I loved having my parents here :)
