Parents

My mum and dad arrived in London today, so after work (9 pm...) I met them for dinner at Nando's. It was great seeing them again. I've missed them so much! I'll admit that I even cried a little when I saw them walking towards me.

I love them! <3

We only had time for dinner, since I start working early tomorrow, thogh tomorrow I only work for four hours, so we are going to have almost the whole day to spend together!

chew chew!

If there's one thing that I can't stand, it's when people chew with their mouth open. And loud. When someone does that, it's like my whole insides jerk at every chew. I usually don't say anything, I think manly because one time when I was younger I kindly asked a girl in my class "Could you please chew with your mouth closed?" and she started crying hysterically...

I guess all people are raised differently when it comes to this matter, but to me it's very rude to share whatever mushy stuff you have in your mouth. I don't whant to either see or hear what you are eating. It's about manners, you know.

Besides, the whole world doesn't need to know that you're eating, so please close your mouth while chewing!

A day in Camden

So Julia and I spent the day in Camden. We didn't have much time though, since we wake up late and we had to be home at five because Julia had a couple of skype dates planned (but of course we didn't make it home in time).
Julia and I are waiting for the bus to Camden

We ended up walking around for a bit, then we went to a Piercing place, because Julia had been wanting to pierce her ear for a while now. The people there at the piercing place were very professional and everything was quick and easy.
Julia with her new piercing (the ring)

After that, we went to an Indian shop and bought jewellery and, shockingly, christmas decorations. I don't think it was meant for christmas devorations, but to us paperstarts thet you put on a lamp felt very christmasy. Then we went to eat mexican food by the river.

What I like about Camden is that there is so much to do and to look at, and that If you feel that you want to take it easy for a while you can just go down to the river. Camden is a place where you can spend whole days just walking around and doing nothing.

Sleeping beauties

Our plan was to wake up around 8:30 and then go to central London and take care of some stuff, do some shopping etc. Though, when we woke up, it was already 12:30.

Fail.

So now, it's only gonna be a trip to Camden, because there is not enough time to do the other things we had planned to do.

Skywriter

You know those favourite songs that come and go? Some of them might even come back a few times. This is one of them. It was sent to me from a friend almost a year ago, and now it has somehow found it's way back to my heart.

Closing shift

Today, I worked from 16:30 to 20:30, which was okay. I felt a bit slow and tired, but that might have been because of the fact thet the only thing I did was cleaning. Cleaning the panini machines, cleaning the fridges, the pastry case, coffee machines, frappuchino area etc. That's so tiring...

But tomorrow I have a day off, and on wednesday my parents are coming! So at least I have something to look forward to :)

Sunday night

Last night, Julia, Terés, Kristy and I went to a pub to look at a band play. It was decided pretty much the last minute. Kristy knew one of the guys in the band, so that's why we went. They were pretty good, though I don't remember the band's name... :P

Pictures of the night

About last night... as usual, I forgot to take any pictures during the night. Though, I took two polaroid pictures before we went out. Better than nothing, right?

Late breakfast

Julia, Terés and I had a very late breakfast today. So late that we couldn't even call it Brunch - at 3.30 pm. What do you call it then? Brunner? (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

 Terés:"FOOOOD!"

Now, we are going to watch a movie.

Great night

We just came home from a great night out! This time we went to a place in Camden called Purple turtle. It was really nice! They had good music, which was a mix of 90:s and modern music, and they gave out free glow sticks :P haha. The night ended at a kebab place, which has become our new favourite place to eat after a night out. I don't know what the name of the place is, but we call it "The flying carpet".

I just wanted to tell you this before I went to bed. It is currently 05:53 am here and I'm super tired, which I'm sure you can understand if you've read my last post.

Good night! (Or morning or whatever...)

Stupid people

I juat came home from work. Work wasn't fun at all today, because I was so tired! I can tell you this - Living right next to a bar is no fun at all when you have to go up 6 in the morning. Those idiots at the bar woke me up several times by yelling, fighting and shouting outside, and every time it took me forever to fall back asleep.

Arrgh!! >:(

Some people shouldn't be allowed to drink.

Pokémon

Right now, me and my flatmates are rocking out to the Pokémon theme song! Who needs to go out on a friday night when you have the pokémon song at home?

Am I right? :D
I spoke to my parents earlier. I really miss them and I look forward to next week when they are coming to London to visit me!

It's hard living away from family like this. Luckily, Sweden and England isn't that far away from each other, so it's somewhat easy to visit each other, and today's technology allows you to speak to each other even if you're on different parts of the planet. So we still talk on skype and facebook sometimes.

I'll see if I can come up with something fun to do while they're here. :)

Up

Another nice disney remix :)

Rude Customers

When you work at a place like starbucks, you get to face a lot of different types of people. Most people come in to the café with a nice attitude, but once in a while you meet people that aren't so nice. I met one of those not so nice people today.

She is a regular at our starbucks and she always sits on the same spot. All day long. Today, she came up to the counter and wanted something toasted. One of my collegues goes up to her to toast it for her and the woman completely ignores her.

My collegue: "You want me to toast this for you?"

Woman: "No, I want Pat to do it!"

*Me and my collegue looked at each other with confused looks*

Woman: "I don't want you to toast it, because you burnt my crossiant earlier! God, why is everyone flocking around me!?" (It was only the three of us there)

Another scenario that happened later whas when she was ordering something to drink:

*I'm reaching for a mug to put her drink in*

Woman: "No, not that one! There is a mark on it"

Me: "This? That's just from the marker we use..." *I rub on a small spot on the side of the mug and it disappears*

Woman: "Look, I don't want to have a long discussion about this. Just give me another mug!"

What's also incredibly annoying about this woman is that, on her voice, she sounds so very nice, but what she is saying isn't nice at all. She is always critizising what we do and how we do it and she always insists on wiping her table herself because we "Don't do it right".

I'm starting the day with a song that Julia has been playing here in the house

New skirt!

So I did something about the urge I had before about doing something creative. The result is a skirt! I've had this amazing fabric for a long time, and I've been trying to figure out what to do with it. Finally I came up with something.

So, what do you think? :)

Boredom

Today has been a lazy day. I didn't do any of the things that I had planned to do. I was too tired and fell back to sleep. I didn't go up from bed until 11am, and since then I've just been out buying breakfast and after that I have just been watching series.

Right now I'm feeling bored and feel like doing something creative. So I'm gonna see if there is something I can do.

New plans

I have been thinking a lot lately about what to do with school and work and everything, and after contacting CSN with some questions I have now decided to take another term off and work full time a while longer.

The reason I decided this is mainly because I need the money. School here is expensive, living here is expensive... everythting is expensive! I seriously don't understand how the companies here can be allowed to pay as little salary as they do. It's insane!

I have the day off today, so I'm gonna go to my school and talk to them about taking a term off, and after that I will play tennis with some of my co-workers ^^ I can't play tennis, so let's see how it goes!

Blogspot has its perks

Even though I still miss my old blog, I am actually happy about changing to blogspot. One thing, for starters, is that not only can you see your statistics, but you can also see where your readers are from. Cool huh? :D

You can also see what links etc. people clocked to get to your blog.

It has also a lot of options for the design on the blog. I'm gonna have a closer look to that later.

Thumbs up for me and Julia!

Julia and I decided today that we wanted to re-organize the kitchen. We ignored what other people in the house would think and just went for it. It couldn't get worse than it was before anyways!

This is what it looks like now:

I don't have a picture of how it looked before, but there used to be a mini oven, a toaster and some random stuff. Now it's mine and Julia's stuff! >:D *evil laugh*

We also re-organized the cupboards and moved around some stuff, so now it feels like we have a lot more space. Awesome!

To be honest, there is still a lot of stuff that we should fix in the house, it's just that no one wants to take the responsibility to do something about it. Nobody wants to spend money on things like that. But now, we have at least improved the kitchen a bit... Thumbs up for me and Julia!

18 Sept 2011

Sleepy

Today was my first day this week that I was off from work. It was nice to have a day when I did almost nothing. I just watched series, went for a walk and helped Michelle with one of her school projects (she took pictures of me wearing scarfs).

Anyway, I have to go to bed now. I start working 6am tomorrow. The bad thing about working at starbucks is the working hours. The people there are all really nice, it's a nice environment and all, but I have noticed that I'm exhausted all the time. Some times I work the evening shift one day and then have the morning shift the next day. It really messes up my sleeping pattern...

Well, good night!

R.I.P laurea.t15.org

So it looks like my old blog died. Either that, or it just ran away. I don't know how it happened, but every time I try to visit or log onto my blog this comes up:

Trabslation: "Oops! Google chrome couldn't find laurea.t15.org"

Will it come back? I don't know. Maybe it was tired of me, and I was tired of waiting for it to come back (it's been a week now), so I started a new one.

So, as you can see, my new blog adress is "laurea-l.blogspot.com". I would prefer "laurea.blogspot.com", but that was already taken by someone who's not even using it, so I added the first letter of my surname... A funny thing is that when I say it, it sounds like L'oréal.

Let us hope that I won't get any copyright issues with this... :P
