Creative drape

Class today was a lot of fun. Last week, we were told to bring an interesting object and we would find out today what to use it for. I brought this pony-thingie that someone had left in our flat:

Then, we were told to simplify the shape, draw it onto some calico, cut it out and sew it together. I came up with this shape:
After that we would drape our coats or jackets onto a mannequin and combine it with our "shape" (I can't find a better word for it):

And then, finally, we would combine our "shape" with a classmate's, sew it together and experiment:

It's fun to try out different shapes and just to experiment, which is what this class is mostly about. It's very rough, but it's a good way to come up with new designs. I'm already looking forward to what we might do next week! :)
